Library Card Sign-Up Month and Limited Edition Card

In celebration of Library Card Signup Month, El Paso Public Library is thrilled to introduce a captivating Limited Edition Library Card, showcasing a unique design that encapsulates the local spirit and culture.  It’s the library’s way of reminding students of all ages that the most important school supply of all is at the library – it's a library card.  

The limited-edition card design will be rolled out on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at a special event at the Chamizal Community Library located 2119 Cypress Ave at 11 AM.  Cards will be available onsite.  There will free refreshments and activities for the whole family in conjunction with the design rollout.   

Limited edition library cards not only grant access to an expansive collection of books, digital resources, and educational programs, but also serves as a collector's item, celebrating the profound impact of libraries in our community. 
"Libraries play an integral role in fostering a love for reading and learning," said Norma Martinez, Director of El Paso Public Libraries. "The Limited Edition Library Card serves as a symbol of our commitment to lifelong learning and discovery." 

Library cards open up all of the resources available to students at the library including research databases, downloadable books and resources, computer access, practice exams for higher education, and much more.   

Library cards are free to residents of the City of El Paso.  County residents can pay $25 for 6 months or $50 for a full year of library service. 

To get a library card, All you need is a government issued photo ID with current address.  People who have recently moved to El Paso can use alternate forms of ID such as a utility bill along with a photo ID.
