Troncoso Reading Prizes

Troncoso Reading Prizes Contest at the Sergio Troncoso Library

September 15 - December 8, 2023

Students are challenged to read a minimum of 5 books between September 15 and December 8, and write an essay (must be 100 words or less) about one of the books read during the timeframe.

The students who read the most books will be eligible to win a prize. EPPL librarians will judge the essays to determine the winners of each category. Previous winners will not be considered for future prizes unless a student who won the 5th-8th grade category is now eligible for a prize in the 9th-12th grade category. Students may enter the contest by visiting the Sergio Troncoso Library or online, at elpasolibrary.beanstack.org.

Students are separated into 2 categories:

Grades 5-8 and High School Grades 9-12

Each category will be awarded a first, second, and third prize. Prizewinners will receive a Barnes and Noble Gift Card of different values based on ranking.

The Sergio Troncoso Reading Prize contests are open to students from the Sergio Troncoso Branch area.
